VeloRouge is an independent bicycle and e-bike rental shop in central Strasbourg, a five-minute walk from the main station. We rent by the half day, the day and the week, from our own counter — no station kiosk, no app-only pickup.

How we work

Everything is handed over at the counter: a charged bike, an approved helmet, a lock and a route map. There is no fixed pickup time — you come when it suits you on the day you booked, and bring the bike back before we close.

We keep a workshop on site, so the bikes you rent are serviced by the same people who hand them to you. If something happens mid-ride, you call or message the shop directly and we sort it out.

We are not a tour operator and we do not run guided rides during the day. We map self-guided routes on komoot instead — the canals, the vineyards, the Rhine — so you ride at your own pace.

Is VeloRouge a real shop or an online platform?
A real shop. You collect and return the bike at 4 Rue du Faubourg-de-Saverne in Strasbourg, five minutes' walk from the station. Booking and payment happen online, but a person hands you the bike.
Who owns VeloRouge?
VeloRouge is independently owned and run in Strasbourg. It is not a franchise of a national chain and not the city's public bike service (that is Vélhop).
What languages does the team speak?
French, English and German. The website, the booking flow and the confirmation emails are available in all three.
